In this role you will...

• Design APIs, database schemas, background jobs, and queues to build powerful features across the Edge app suite.
• Take ownership of projects from conception all the way to shipping, keeping the code modular, typed, and maintainable.
• Work directly against Shopify's platform APIs, from app embeds and checkout extensions to billing and webhooks.
• Improve our infrastructure so it keeps up as merchant install counts and event volume grow.
• Turn merchant feedback into shipped product changes rather than backlog tickets.
• Use AI to improve internal tooling and workflows as we scale.

You will be a perfect fit if you...

• Have 3+ years building production web applications at a fast-paced product company or startup.
• Are proficient in our stack: TypeScript, React, Next.js, Tailwind, tRPC, Drizzle, and PostgreSQL.
• Write strictly typed code by default and treat correctness as part of shipping, not a later pass.
• Can take a Figma design and turn it into pixel-accurate UI when the work calls for it.
• Are comfortable collaborating asynchronously in a fully remote, global team.

You will be an exceptional fit if you also...

• Have built on the Shopify platform before, whether apps, themes, or checkout extensions.
• Take initiative and do not mind wearing a lot of hats. Even better if you have founded something yourself.
• Have worked on billing, payouts, or other systems where a wrong number is a real dispute.
